Hi, my names Kenny and I'm sorry to have to make another topic about these blasted things but you guys seem very on the ball and happy to help so here goes:

I received my R4i gold SDHC Revolution from my sister for christmas, from a market which I know is a bad start but hear me out. It came with games already on it and the prompt when I started it up said Star Wars Lethal Alliance. I know thats the case for quite a lot of DSi users because of the 1.4v hacking system but my cartridge DID have that game already on it. Now I deleted that game because it's only a 2gig card, but thats when my card stopped working. At first I thought that might b the cause o it as I didn't really understand the booting process and whatnot, but a lot of people say that icon comes up when they don't have the game.

At first it didn't recognise it was there, but I found that I could sort of trick it into working by pushing the SD card in as I pushed the cartridge in, and I made do like that for a while. Now most of the time when I was doing this it came up with a black error screen saying to turn it off and try again, but eventually I'd get the star wars logo up on it's own and it'd work. After a while it just stopped working, I can still get the lethal alliance thing to come up by pushing the sd card but on the rare occasions it loads... It's just a white screen. The site on the front of my R4i box is www.R4i-SDHC.com.au

I've tried downloading every type of kernel on there and formatting my sd card and swapping file types but I'm at my wits end. Sorry for the rant but I have no clue. Thanks in advance guys!

Hi Kenny,

It sounds like your R4 card is at fault. either that or your micro sad card. Do you have another micro sd card that you can try?

Sometimes in the manufacturing process the slot for the micro sd is slightly larger and therefore the micro sd does not sit on the contacts of the R4 like it should. Also in the same vein, the R4 card itself can be made slightly thin and not sit in the Slot 1 of the DS like it should.

You need to do a few tests to rule out either the Micro SD or the R4 card itself.

On a side note, its very illegal for the market stall tradesmen to sell these devices with games pre-installed onto memory cards. You really should own the physical game before using it on your R4, unless off course they are free to own homebrew games, which there are many to be had online. :-) Also god only knows what viruses etc may be on those micro sd cards - beware!

Many Thanks
