Recently I have purchase 2 R4i Gold cards, I have been having trouble with them. I have brand new DSI that I have bought one is running v1.4a and the other is v1.3a. I have tri ed the R4i cards in both with all the latest kennals but when inserted it comes up as Danny Phantom Urban Jungle, on the DSI and when selected the screen just goes blank. It also does it when the R4i card doesn't have the SD card in it. Does anyone have any ideas??

Hi New member here...so hello to all.
You will get the Star wars lethal alliance or sisimilarnd a white screen if you .
a.do not have a game rom in the root of the memory card when booting as there is nothing for it to boot.
b. any game roms you do have must be in the same root directory as the r4i gold software - not in folders as the poster above has - pretty sure this will solve your issues.
c. I always just load the software then drag and drop the game roms onto the mem card.

I have been able to download the firmware on the SDHC card and then copied the .NDS game to the Card. When i insert the R4i Gold in my DS and select the game to play it says "File not registered" How do I get the games to work?

Do NOT try to setup a new card using OSX: you will fail. The result of not seeing some underscored files after extraction will result in this blank screen without every warning that something is wrong with your files. It took me a moment to figure out that it was the operating-system i was using that simply wrecked the kernel- and system-files for NDS(i). Maybe this will help someone and save him some headache.
cheers

Yes i own alot of games and i thought that this would be a great way for me to take all my ds games with me at one time and not lose them. the micro sd card is a san disk 16 gig. i have made rom folder and i can see that and files in it but like after the second rom they dont work, but i am going back to check if i have the new kernel just in case.

Hi TAG72,
** I moved your post to the R4i Gold Forum **
First of all do not worry about the "Danny Phantom Urban Jungle" the makers of these cards have to fool the DSi that it is not an R4 Card that you are using and as such they make the DSi think that it is a legitimate game. Most use "Star Wars Lethal Alliance" - but I guess yours uses a different one. Do not worry about this.
The issue you have is that nothing happens when you click this. The error you describe sounds like a software issue, this is the most common issue. Within this forum I have a sticky post about the software for R4i GOLD cards. Have a read of it and see which one you need. It all depends on the URL that is written on your card.
If you are sure you have the right software make sure you have extracted the files correctly. I've seen some peoples memory cards after the user thinks they have extracted the files correctly and all there is in the root of the card is a RAR or ZIP file :S
If you let me know what the URL is on your card I will post a screen shot of how your memory card should look after you have extracted the software on to it.
One other thing you can try is to reformat the card using the formatter supplied from the official SD Card Association. We have written a help topic to cover how to do this: Formatting your Micro SD Card
Let me know how you get on...

No worries - hopefully you will get your card sorted but if not get back to us and we can see if we can help further

Hi 1970Phil,
The error you are seeing does sound like the software is not installed correctly. Its hard to say exactly what could be wrong. One thing I could suggest is trying it without any games (remove the games folder too) and seeing if it works without anything else on the card. Even without the games on there you should still see the R4 menu appear etc.
You could also try formatting the card and starting again as I have had corruption occur during the transfer of the kernel to the card. Also make sure that the date & time is set correctly on your DS!

Hi Bolle,
Welcome aboard
I should have read your post before responding as you have given some great advice there. I have never had an issue with trying the DS cards without any games though, have you found this to be the case? But yeah sometimes there can be issues if you do not load the NDS files into the root of the memory card.

Hi Pam,
We have not seen that error before we must admit!
Can you give us some more information. Do you ever see the R4 menu after turning on your DS? Are you using a DS or a DSi?

Hi,
Have you actually installed the kernel onto the memory card? If so where did you download this from? If you have not then go and check out the ALL THE HELP YOU NEED - READ THIS FIRST sections of this site

Hi there,
We can't really help with specific files unfortunately. We assume that you have the original cartridges and assume these work fine as they are. If so then it coudl be an issue with the micro sd card, what brand is it? Have you left enough room on the card for the SAV files?

It sound like you need to format the micro SD card. Please do this using the SD formatter with the size allocation set to default. You can use the windows formatter but ensure it is set to FAT32 with the size allocation set to default.
Good luck

This error is related to the connection between the card and your console and not the software. Please remove the R4 from your console. Blow hard into the game slot to remove any dust that may be present. Carefully reinsert the card ensuring it is seated correctly. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. If it does not I would suggest you contacted the retailer to see if it is still under warranty.

it does sound as though there is a compatibility issue between this card and your console. Please can you confirm the software version currently installed on your console? this can be found by selecting the spanner icon on the home screen. The software version can be clearly located on the top screen in the bottom right hand corner. Nintendo released a new software update at the back end of last week to block these cards. I would advise that you checked with the manufacturers website for your particular card to see if they have released one already.
