Ok, so I just bought a R4i SDHC gold, and it has the r4ids.com site on the box, but the site won't pull up. Is there any other place I can get the correct software?

I spoke too soon. I can get NES games to work, but I can't get DS games to work. Would that be a problem with having the wrong software?

I got it from www.leetmod.com and I did send them a message yesterday explaining that I couldn't get the software since the site is down. Hopefully they'll have an alternative.

This firmware works on the r4ids and you should have no problems using it in DS, DSL, DSI
There are other firmwares for other cards on this site also.

hello this is my first time here so sorry if i am at the wrong place
here is the deal i have bought a r4i revolution for ds ( i am using a dsi ) the website on my came card says : www.r4ids.com
i downloaded the : Update R4i v1.31 kernel 2010-1-21 file unpackt it with winrar and copy'd all files ( moonshell ) to my 4 gig micro sd hc card
when i start my dsi system i see ( at the place of a normal game ) a danny phanton urban jungle icon ( but there are no nds files on my card yet just the needed moonshell ) i just want to test my card so i press start and i get the next message from my system : an error ocured press and hold the power button
do you guys have had the same problems ? i have tryd all the drivers from the web site al ready so a short listing
its for a nintendo dsi system
the box says : r4 gold
r4i sdhc
revolution for ds
dsi/dsl/nds

Hello.
I recently bought an R4i Gold With the 1.4 star on the card and box.
I Installed the lastest software.I placed all the files into my memory unit correctly, and ran the game.
Every time I end up with a white screen, and nothing happens.
Please help. thanks.

But I download the latest one and all it gives me is a white screen :/

Yeah, the SD card reads fine. It only works fine when i use a really old version, but when i Use an old version, it can't play any games withought going white screen.
Please help.

no other web site is going to have the kernel you need. the only kernel that will work comes from the web site that is printed on the box or card. did you remember to format the sd card? did you try to contact the vendor you got it from and get one from memorycardzoo.com.

whats the url (web site) on the card? did you for mat the sd card unrar the files and put each file onto the root of the freshly formatted sd card.

I'm running into a similar problem; feel like I'm banging my head against a wall.
Recently bought my girlfriend a DSi XL (v. 1.4U) and snagged an R4i Gold, because it was supposed to work and stuff.
When I turn on the system, I see the game, "Danny Phantom Urban Jungle THQ," which I understand is normal. When I load it, I get a frozen black screen that reads, "Loading..." in white letters on the top screen. Nothing happens.
I've downloaded about 10 different copies of what claim to be the "newest" or "most recent" version of the R4i Gold firmware and every single one produces the same results. I've tried versions 1.28, 1.31, 1.32, 1.8(??) and 2.12(???) - all claiming to be for R4i Gold hardware, all from different sites that seem to be somewhat authoritative. My results don't differ in the slightest.
I've tried multiple formats of the card - FAT, FAT32, NTFS - with different versions of the firmware. All produce the same results: Frozen "Loading..." text on a black screen.

I'm aware people will recommend I double check that I have the right firmware. I cannot stress enough that I have tried multiple versions of R4i Gold firmware builds and all produce the exact same results. Is it possible that Nintendo has updated their software but left the version number the same? It seems plenty of people have their R4i Gold running fine on DSi XL consoles.
I have a DS Lite with an R4 revolution and it works like a charm, always has.
Any insights are greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have a R4i v.1.4 card (the one in the red box) which fails to be recognized in a DSi 1.2E.
The DSi states that there is no game pack inserted. I have downloaded the appropriate software onto a 4gb kingston micro sd card.
Do I have the wrong R4 card?

hi there....new to forum
i have a dsi...can anyone tell me how to i check the version of the software installed..ie 1.4 etc.
also i have a r4i gold v1.4 with the link www.r4i-gold.com, i have tried to download kernels from various sites including the link provided and when i run it in my dsi, i get the game name as 'Star Wars Alliance' when i click start\A i get the message in top screen as '?Menu' and get a black screen at the bottom and it will not proceed any futher.
Is it possible that i have a faulty r4i gold card?
i have tried 2 different sd cards incase it faulty but the problem still remains?
Can anyone help please?

iv just got a r4 king LL but im having trouble with the software and cant find another or the clone site for fake ones when i download the software it comes up as a rar file a white one saying english but when i put it on card and into ds nothing comes up except a white screen can any one help me please im desperate

Always make sure you have the latest version of the Kernel software for your card. 9 out of 10 times this fixes issues people have had with Loading messages and general card not working properly failures.

If the software was wrong then the r4i would not work at all - I've seen other posts on this site about the card you have. Something has obviously happened to the manufacturer as their website has seemingly gone for good :(
You really could do with the latest software - but not sure where you will be able to retrieve it from - have you contacted the vendor of the R4i card? Where did you buy the r4i from?

Hi,
Unfortunately you have been sold an old R4i card that is not compatible with the latest software for your DSi. Nintendo updated the DSi softwrae some time ago now to version 1.4. When this happened all R4i (and similar cards) compatibility was broken. R4 manufacturers created new versions which are compatible with 1.4. The only way to get around this issue would be to buya new R4i card. I can recommend an R4i card that is 100% compatible if you would like me too.

Usually when you get the white screen it means the wrong software or the software is not installed correctly - if you are sure you have done all that properly then it could be the micor sd card is faulty or the card is not being picked up by the r4i card - have you got another micro sd card you can try?

Yeah it sounds like you have a faulty card to be honest - this can happen and the error you say is what you would get if the card was faulty - I would steer well away from R4i GOLD cards - we get endless reports of faults on this site with GOLD cards!!!
