Hi, I bought an official R4i Gold card from ishopvideogame.com, but whenever I install the software onto my micro sd card, it always appears as "Nothing inserted in the Game Card Slot" on my Dsi V1.4.

Can somebody please help me and I don't think that the card is corrupted.

Hi Footywiz,

This can happen when the DS card itself is made slightly too thin. The contacts are not connecting in your DSi properly - try slipping a bit of paper between the card and the DSi to see if this helps. Otherwise it may be a faulty card so if that case call up the shop you made the purchase from..

I hope this helps! Smile

Hi, how does the paper trick work. I don't know how to fix it because the card seems normal.

What you need to do is put the DS card into your DS. Make a not of which side the contacts are on the DS card. hen fold a piece of paper and slide it in between the DS card and your DS (In the Slot) so that it makes the fit of the DS card tighter and presses the contracts of the DS card on the contacts within your DS.

HI,the paper trick doesn't work.

These are the steps that I take:
1. Download kernel v1.30 (I have downloaded many different types of the same thing)
2. extract kernel
3. Load extracted kernel into the micro sd card (except for the how to cheat thing)
4. put micro sd card into r4i gold
5. Receive "There is nothing inserted in the game slot" message

Please help me!!

Hi Footywiz,

The error you are seeing does not sound like it is a kernel issue. If you have tried and failed with the paper trick I would suggest contacting the retailer you bought the card from and asking for a replacement. We test many many cards and from time to time we get the same error and the card turns out to be faulty. A replacement card should solve your issue.

When you get anew card remember to ONLY use the kernel from the website address printed on the card itself.

Let us know how you get on...

(If you ordered from memory card zoo they will send you a returns form with a FREEPOST address so it won't cost you to send it back to them)

Question: I download a firmware upgrade on my R4i Revolution for DS Gold. Told by the system the upgrade of the firmware was successful. When I plug in to DS Lite and DS Gameboy it start telling me it No Game Card found. How do you reset the firmware back to default or previouse version. If possible reply to email address. Thanks.
