Hi,
I have followed the instructions to the letter but still cannot get the card to work.
I have a R4 upgrade Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS) card with the url www.R4I-SDHC.com on it.
All I get when switching on the DS lite is : www.r4i-sdhc.com, Loading...........
Can anyone point me in the right direction please before I chuck it out of the window?!! I have tried various different software versions as indicated by other posts on this site but am getting nowhere.
What is the correct version of software I need?
many thanks, Steve

Hi Fondingo,
Thanks so much for your help.
Both the cards are now working a treat and luckily enough both use the same software. I think originally I was trying to use the software on the right of the website!! It's obvious now I look at it.
Thanks again.

If you have not completed STEP 4 then please go and do that first:
HOW TO: Setting up your DS Card - STEP 4: Installing the Kernel to your Micro SD
STEP5: Using game files in your DS Card
By now you should have a working DS card. This topic explains how to copy NDS game files to your micro sd so that you can play them on your DS.DSi.
The screenshots below where taken from a machine running Windows 7. They may look slightly different if you are using windows vista or windows xp, but should be similar enough for you to work through and copy the steps correctly.
1) Download your game file from your favourite homebrew site. Here is a great site that lists all of the best homebrew games and applications: http://www.ndshb.com/

2) To follow this guide save your download file to your desktop. I am using the great Manic Miner game that you can find for FREE on this website: Manic Miner in the Lost Levels
3) It will most likely be a ZIP or a RAR file.

4) Right click on the game file you should have saved onto your desktop. (If you have saved it in another location on your PC that's fine just continue from that location) and choose the extract option from the pop up menu that appears. (Choose the option as circled in the picture above)

5) The game is now unzipped (unpacked) to a new folder on your desktop.

6) You should now see a new folder on your desktop, that is named the same as the game download file. Double click on the folder to open it and to view the contents.

7) You should now have a window open similar to the above. There is only one important file that you need. and that is the file ending in ".nds" - this is the only file you will need and you can ignore the rest.
8) Now its time to go and get your Micro SD card. Insert it into your card reader and then into your PC.

9) You may be prompted similar to the above when you first insert your card into your PC. If so choose "Open folder to view files". If you do not get this prompt, open a new windows explorer window and navigate to your card from the list of drives.

10) You should now have a window open, as above, showing the contents of your memory card. Your card may look different depending on what type of DS card you have. Do not worry about this.
11) If your card has a GAMES folder then click into this folder. Some DS cards require that all games files (NDS files) are loaded into a GAMES folder.
12) Now switch back to the window that has the files from your game you downloaded showing (From step 7 of this post).

13) Both windows should now be open as above.
14) Highlight just the NDS file from the window that contains the files and folders from your game download.

15) Click and drag the file from that window into your micro sd card window and let go to copy the file to your card. Alternatively, right click all the selected file and choose copy. Then on your micro sd window, right click and choose paste.

16) When the copy is complete you should see the game on your micro sd card.

17) Eject the micro sd within windows 7. If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista there will be no eject option. Instead, you need to choose to "safely remove".
18) Remove the Card reader from your PC and remove the micro SD from the card reader.
19) Insert the Micro SD card into your DS Card.
20) Insert the DS Card into your DS/DSi and turn it on.
21a) Nintendo DS: If you are using a standard Nintendo DS then the card software should load automatically. and you shoud be taken to a graphical menu.
22b) Nintendo DSi: If you are using a new Nintendo DSi then you should be taken to the DSi main menu. You should then click on the icon for your DS card. Sometimes this can be cloaked as a game, such as "Star Wars Lethal Alliance". Do not worry about this. Click the icon to load the DS Card software.
23) Most DS cards have a GAME menu option. Click this to see a list of games. You should now see the new game listed. Click this to load it and play it. Have Fun!
This is the end of our 5 part guide to setup and get your DS card working so that you can play games downloaded for free from homebrew sites. Please let us know how you get on. Good luck!

Sounds like some of the software kernel has been accidentally wiped :-) I think you would be best starting again with this one.
Transfer all of your games to a safe place on your computer or memory stick, format the micro SD card using the SD association formatter or your windows formatter...needs to ensure it is set to FAT32 when you do this with the size allocation set to "on". Go to the URL (web address) on your DS card and download the latest software for that particular model. Unzip the file and transfer all of the files over to your formatted Micro SD card. After you have done this try it in your DS to see if all ok. If it works at this point you can start transferring your games over.
Hope this helps

Hi there,
When it mentions the 1.4version it is referring to the software version of the DSi...not the download you need to drive your R4i.
You should see links ot various types of cards, make sure you get the latest one for the R4i Revolution that is all.
Good luck
