Hi, I have purchased 2 micro sd cards, the details are: Kingston 8GB, SDC4/8GB and Kngston 4GB, SDC4/4GB. Please can you let me know the URL codes for both to enable me to download the correct software.

Hi

My daughter recently bought an R4 card o/s. They may have seen her coming as it wasn't in a box and there is no url on it.

I have downloaded kernels from v 1.1 to 1.8 and installed them separately but the best I ever get on the DS screen is

Top screen - R4 Revolution
Bottom screen - R4 revolution and a blue band with 3 exclamation marks and then a grey band with some chinese writing.

Does anyone have any suggestions or do we just write it off as a bad purchase,

are you trying to use the super card on a ds lite or the dsi. and from your post it sounds like it is working on the dsi. alot of the time if you can find a lower ver of the kernel should work with the dslite. ive always tried starting from low to the latest ver.

try the r4ds.cn and r4ds.me other than that i would try all the r4 kernels and use trial and error to find the right one. is there writing on the back of the card ware the contact points are at some times they put it there.

ware did you get the kernel from that runs the old roms? is there a web site on the card at all. can you send a pic of the r4 card. if there is no web site then try and go into the media menu and try to run a diognistic on the card, some times the web site is listed in there and sometimes its all in Japanese

try www.r4ds.cn what ver dows your kernel say? it should be on the menu screen like at the bottom or at the lower top screen. that would better help me too but for now i would try the kernel from www.r4ds.cn

so the kernel works from the r4ds.cn web site? what roms are you trying to get to play? what speed/ver od micro sd are you running you r4 with(number inside the circle that is on the sd card.) are you running this r4 card on a dsi dslite or fat? what ver of the kernel did you get i thought i saw 3 of them. if you flip the r4 card around to the back is there any writing on the back of it it should be right on the circuit board ware the connectors are at some times they print ware to get the software from right there.

I have a R4i Super card and have downloaded v 1.20 from www.super4i.com on numerous occasions but just keep coming up with the black loading screen. The DSI shows v 1.20e. Is this the issue or is this card particularly hard to work with?

Hi. have an r4 card no packaging i'm afraid,black with silver swirl pattern, R4 Revolution for DS,
(NDSL/NDS) written on it.
Al games work fine until recently when new ones just go to black screen and freeze ,so was hoping that an update may help.

Have no packaging ,and not sure if the original kernal as i remember when i first got it my son manage to delete everything so just went to site(not knowing there were differant types)and downloaded one,which up to now has worked fine but have found the more recent games do not work and just got to a black screen when lading.

hi i am having problems updating my card, ive never had a problem before with it but any new games which have come out this year have not worked,
the card says on it:

R4 Revolution 3 for NDS
(NDSL/NDS)

i have no idea where to get an update for it and even if i found it i dont know how to install it onto the card as the websites i have been on dont come with instructions. HELP!

Hi there

I need some help with my R4 SDHC card. One month ago I put another software on my card because a game (sims 3) didn't work and in a forum I read that putting the new wood software (or some kind of that, I don't remember the name) the game will run on my Nintendo DS.

Well, my NDS got frozen and no start menu appeared since I putted that new software so my great idea was do a format on the card and start again with my card. Here is the actually problem.

On my R4 card there's no URL but I find the web (I think is that web http://www.r4sdhc.com/index.asp). I download the ultimate kernel in my language (spanish) for my micro sd card, but before unzip nothing on my micro sd card I format it like in the guide you teach. Then, I unzipped all the files in my micro sd card but I think there are less files than before...

First of all, when I put the micro sd card on my R4 card and run my nds, on the screen I read it can't find the file "_sys_data\loader", and that's true. On my "_system_" folder there's no "_sys_data" folder inside.

I don't understand it. If I download the kernel of the web (I suppose it's the correct for my R4 SDHC card) why I need files that in the zipp there is not on?

I need some wise advice...

Hi all

Just got an R4i card but cannot get the kernel

On the box the website is r4ll.net.com Red box with a red stickered R4i card.

I went to the site and have downloaded all the different language files but all of those archives are corrupt.

There is also no way of contacting them as they have removed their email from the website.

I am very much hoping that someone can provide an alternative location to download the files.

the console is a DSI running 1.4.2e, the card is R4i SDHC upgrade revolution v1.41 v1.42 with a red box, the url is www.r4ll-net.com

I have tried loads of firmware, I tried to run the fwup142 update on a older model dsl, I have tried all the fixes listed on this site.

the error message reads. An error has occurred.press and hold the power button to turn the system off.please refer to the nintendo DSI operations manual for details

I have(I think I have) a R4 SDHC card and in the bottom i says Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS). I have tried to install different softwares, but i dosen't work. It only says "loading" on the top screen. What to do???

I posted on the forum yesterday under a separate topic, apologies if it was in the wrong place but my reason for this was that because unlike some of the problems described in this topic thread, my DS Lite does actually boot using the firmware www.r4ds.info. After I install a rom, the game icon appears but when the game icon is clicked - the loading bar hits 100% then the screen just stays yellow/white...

Maybe the software is wrong after all - so any help would be appreciated.

I've attached 2 pictures of the R4 card front and back. There is some writing just inside on the back near the pins, but I can not see it clearly enough, and there are also 2 pictures attached of what happens when the ds successfully boots and then when it locks past the loading bar.

I have down-loaded R4 1.1 through to 1.18. Each time I have, replaced the shell folder, the _DS_MENU.DAT、and the _DS_MSHL.NDS. The scandisk card was originally formatted using the scandisk tool.

I've managed to resolve the problem myself... its taken me nearly 2 days.

The card that I have is a wood www.r4wood.com/products/Wood-R4-DS-Revolution-for-Nintendo-DS-%7B47%7D-DSL.html There is a picture of it there.

The latest firmware is also available www.r4wood.com/pages/Wood-R4-Kernel.html Wood R4 Kernel V1.38 is Available (Oct 10th, 2011) This forum has helped me a great deal. Especially the walk through on how to set up.

Hi Iam an 86 year old Grandad and foolishly promised my Grand daughter that I would obtain a R4 card and fill it for Christmas. I now deeply wish that I had not been so foolish. I purchased a card called R4 Revolution for DS(NDSL/NDS) which had no kernal(stupid Man!). I have downloaded any amount of kernals and as yet have had no luck getting the correct one. I am going mad and she is getting impatient. Please Please Help. I enclose a not too good photo of culprit

Hi. my 8 year old son has just purchased a r4, it was from a market (i know not the best place to buy from) but i seem to be having problems getting it to work.

the box states the url of www.r4-pro.com when I go on the website it has pictures of what they say are genuine and fake cards.

looking at their pics it would appear I have a fake. I still did try their firmwares though.

T'he card we have says on the front of it.R4i sdhc v1.4 **(the sdhc looks like the logo you get on the sdhc cards)**

Revolution for DS the box is orange in colour, has mario on it and is printed

R4i

GOLD

Take the function of msn.email and skype

R4I GOLD Upgrade

Revolution for DS

(NDXL/NDLL/NDSi/NDSL/NDS)

in the bottom right hand corner it has a 1.4 in a star, bottom middle www.r4-pro.com and on the bottom right the micro sdhc logo.

according to the url there is two possible firmwares. I have tried both.

when the r4 card is inserted in the dsixl it comes up with danny phantom urban jungle thq

when this is selected, either with or without sd card, or either firmware it says

an error has occurred,

press and hold the POWER

Button to turn the system off.

Please refer to the Nintendo DSi

Operations Manual for details.

the system we are using is DSi XL and the current firmware is 1.4.1

Please only use this post if there is NO url on your ds card. If there is a URL on your card then that is where you need to visit to download the software for your DS card.

If you have a DS card but there is no URL for a software download on the sticker of your DS card then try the following:

1) Check the packaging to see if there is URL printed on there somewhere - usually there will be one on the back of the box the card came in.

2) Ask the shop you bought it from for the latest software. We know that www.m3izero.co.uk offer direct links to the latest software kernels for all cards bought through them. To access these login to your order history and they are available for you there.

3) Check the replies to this thread to see if somebody else has already described your card and has posted a link to the software you need.

4) If all else fails add a reply to this thread describing your card, if you can attach an image of your card. We will then assist you in finding the software you need.

Hi Wasa,

Not hear of this one before! I am guessing that you are downloading the kernels from the wrong place and that they are not compatible with your device. Its going to be really difficult finding the right kernel if there is no URL on the card as there are lots and lots of manufacturers of these cards. It may well be worth just buying a new card, one where you know where you are at and it will save you lots of time!

There has been issued of this happening in the past. The best thing to do here is to visit the manufacturer's website to see if there is a later download which fixes this problem. If you set the date on your console to 2009 for instance, you will probable find that this error is temporarily resolved. The URL should be written on the R4 card itself.

This has just been posted by another member and may be worth trying -

An alternative to the www.r4ll-net.com kernel is found at the following link

Instructions:

1. Format memory card (FAT 32, Allocation size=default)

2. Unrar the downloaded file on to your PC

3. Copy the files and folders straight onto the root of your microsd card

4. Pop it into your R4i card and it should work fine

I went through over 50 different kernels to find this. What a pain....but satisfying that it worked out in the end.

Please can you provide specific details to the problems you are having including any error messages. Also provide details of what you have tried to rectify the problem.

I will need to know specific details of the DS card you had including the manufacturer URL and the console you are attempting to use it in ( it would be useful to have the software version currently running on your console)

Can you confirm if you managed to flash the card without any errors?

Did it get to 100%?

Did you ensure that the console was plugged in to a mains charger and the power was not interrupted during the flashing process?

The important thing when choosing software is to make sure you are getting it from the manufacturer of your particular card. The URL should be clearly marked on your card.

Then carefully choose the software that is correct for your card from their downloads.

The error you are getting is due to the fact that your R4i card is a v1.4 and the software that you have running on your console is the v1.4.1

To test this you can see if it loads up correctly in a standard DS or DSlite.

The manufacturer of your card may have provided a new software kernel which will enable you to upgrade this card..... however in the past the v1.4 cards were not upgradable.

Hi Ferg,

I can see that you have one of the earlier R4 cards that is only compatible with the DS and DSlite. It looks to me that the problem lies more with your micro SD card than the software that you are using. You have manged to get the card to load with the correct r4 home screen and its icons. The problem is when the games start to load. At this point a game will also try to create a .sav file so its obviously having trouble doing this.

I would suggest you cleared your personal files from the micro SD card can formatted the card to FAT32 with the size allocation set to default. The SD association formatter is best for this and will ensure the fragments are correct. Please see the link for details -

Once you have formatted your micro SD card download the latest software kernel from the manufacturer of your card, or the one you have managed to load up. Transfer the files and folders as they appear one by one over to your micro SD card. Make sure the transfer has finished before removing the USB reader from your PC.

Hopefully your problem will now be resolved. If not then I would suggest you tried another micro SD card.
