Hi all
I have purchased an R4i Upgrade to use in a DSi XL (have purchased from the retailer before and bought exactly the same card as before to run in an XL.
Unfortunately I am getting the following error:
An Error has occurred - press and hold the power button to turn the system off -
please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details.
This is a brand new XL, never been used before, and the card is new too, only ordered last week.
Can anyone please help me with what might be wrong please???
I have downloaded the latest 1.20b Kernel, have formatted the SD card just in case, weird though that it works in a normal DSlite???
Literally tearing my hair out on this as its for a friend fathers birthday this sunday :o(

Hi JJ,
It seems that you are using an R4i that is not compatible with latest firmware from your DSi XL. Nintendo update their firmware to 1.4 and this broke the compatibility with R4 & R4i cards made before the change. The only workaround was for people to upgrade and buy a new R4 card, one that was 1.4 compatible. All cards sold these days should be 1,4 compatible so it is a little naughty of your supplier to have sold an older one to you. |If you woudl like a recommendation fo where to buy an R4 card that is 1.4 comaptible please let me know.
Be aware that there are reports of Nintendo releasing a 1.5 firmware update that may have similar consequences.
