Hi my R4i has been working fine since I got it 3 months ago and then yesterday I used it in my cousins DS lite and it worked fine, the problem came when I put it back in the DSi and now it won't work. I get an error message telling me to refer to th eowner manual. When I put it back in the DS lite it works fine. Please help!!!

Hi Wriggers,
In between using your R4 in the DS Lite and the DSi, have you by chance updated the firmware of your DSi? This happens when you go online etc?
Basically what happens is the DSi gets a software update itself. This is update version 1.4. Unfortunately this update makes the earlier R4i cards obsolete. There is no way you can get it to work in your DSi and there is no way to un-install the software update. Your only option is to buy a new R4i that is compatible with the 1.4 software of your DSi
I can recommend an R4i that is compatible if you want me to?

Hi as far as I know the DSi didn't get used at all while the R4i was out, is there anything else that I can try to fix it?If not where is the best place to get a new R4i from and will I need a new memory card too? how can I stop this happening again?

Hi Wriggers,
You don't need as new micro sd card as you can re-use that - all you need is a new R4i card that is 1.4 compatible. There is nothing ot say that this wil not happen again if Nintendo release a new update. There are no guarantees unfortunately.
If you want to purchase a new R4i card then this is the best one to get: R4i
