I recently bought r4i with no knowledge of using it for my new dsi and fortunately found this site for step by step instructiions. I formatted my sd card 1st and then copied r4i 1.17b rar on my desktop. Then to decomission it i downloaded winzip software and following the instructions, i extrated the files and saved em on my desktop they are: 1. mooshl2 2. moonmemo 3. R4iMenu 4. R4 (this 4th one is not a folder only green circle with play sign in it. Now i copied all these 4 into my sd and tried in my console but here the same message is coming :- "An erroe occurred. Please hold the power button to turn the system off. Please see DSI operations manual for help troubelshooting."Now here i am stuck, please help me as my child's birthday is almost here and i want to give this with games as a present to her.

Hi IPSA,
The error message you are seeing is because the R4i that you purchased is an older model and is not supported by the updated firmware (version 1.4) of your Nintendo DSi. To use an R4i on your Nintendo DSi with firmware 1.4 you need too purchase and use an R4i card that is compatible with 1.4. These are generally called R4i version 1.4 and usually have this marked on the card itself.
Most R4i cards now support 1.4. There is no other option than to purchase a new card. If you would like a recommendation to one that will definitely work just let me know.

Thanks for quick reply and please help me to buy genuine r4i for ndsi. What should i see before i ask for r4i for my console apart from what u said about 1.4 campatibility?

Hi Ipsa,
Worry not - if you buy this R4i card I can guarantee that it is 1.4 compatible. This is the standalone card as you can re-use your micro sd card.
This retailer will send you a link to download the new kernel software so you don;t have to worry about that either. :-)

Hi, what u have shown me for sdhc link, i do have the same R4i sdhc upgrade, its a red box saying revolution for DS ( ndsi/ndsl/nds). I wanted to add this too when i bought this r4i one of my friends who is already using this for his console, loaded everything for me and i tried but didn't work as i discussed earlier and then i tried on ds lite too but there was a message of loading only, nothing happened after, finally waited for 10-15 min i turned off ds lite. Here now it looks like i have the right thing of no use!
