Hi All,
Many of you are having problems with the new Nintendo DSi firmware 1.4.1. As with other firmware updates most R4 type cards not specifically compatible will not work if you update your firmware to the latest version. Therefore unless you can purchase a new R4 card we would recommend NOT updating your DSi firmware.
If you do not mind purchasing anew R4 card, or you have already updated your firmware and can not roll it back, then you will need to buy one of these cards:
R4i SDHC 1.4.1

my firmware is still 1.4, i have not updated. MY question is if i buy this new cartridge 1.4.1 will it still work on the old firmware 1.4 or would i have to update that?
or does this cartridge only work with 1.4.1 ?
chears hope i make sense.
ps: can you recommend which website to buy from?

I have purchsed a R4i upgrade 1.4.1 and download the latest software and the card loads but when I put the games on there are no icons they all say R4 in blue and then don't load please help

once my wife loaded the dsi shop, the firmware upgraded and my games stopped and get the shut off error message. how do I roll back my dsi xl version?t is 1.4.1 U. my R$ is the wifi r4i, v1.4 upgrade revolution for ds

Please make sure that all of your games are individually placed at the root directory of your micro SD card. To select the games on your R4 please select the far left icon and they should all be listed there. Please also ensure that the files are .nds files

Unfortunately once you have updated your console it is impossible to revert back to an earlier version. The only alternative you have is to purchase a later version of the cards version 1.4.1. Please see the link below for where to buy genuine cards -

I upgraded my DSi for some stupid reason (well i think i did. I clicked on System update and had to connect to the Internet to do so). I dont understand why or what it upgraded me to. Can somebody please help? How do i now get my R4i card to work? As i now get 'An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off'. This has only happened since my update.

HI,
It would seem that the R4i you have is compatible with the 1.4 version of the DSi console. You will have updated your console to the 1.4.1 version by the sounds of it. So your R4i is no longer compatible. You can check this by clicking on your "spanner" icon, the software version is on the top screen in the bottom right corner. Unfortunately there is not fix for this either than to get a later R4i....and remember not to upgrade the software again :-)

It's better NOT updating your DSi firmware unless the latest firmware fix has been released.
