I am having trouble with different games and wondering if there is a fix. I have used various cards in mine and my two son's ds's
I have 2 x DSl and 1 DSi
In the DSLs I am using or have used R4dsl, TTdsl, and R4neo

My problem is that some games will play and load on one but not the other and am not sure if there is a fix or if it is something I am doing wrong.
I have set several cards up for friends and I am afraid that they will be disappointed with what will actually work and won't. Not to mention the fights in this house when the game works on one but not the other.

Be interested if there is something that can be done.
I've tried different firmware in the cards as well as different versions of the games themselves and I haven't found a 'universal' fix for it.

Thanks again

Hi Technophobe,

Its strange that they work on one DS and not in the other. I know that there are compatibility issues with games and some DS cards, but usually the latest firmware for the card fixes these.

Are the micro SD cards you are using the same capacity and brand? If you take one DS card out of one of your DS's where the game works and then put it into the other DS, are you saying it does not work?

Many Thanks

To be honest I haven't tried doing that, I couldn't be bothered changing the firmware for the cards just to see if the game worked, plus I can't get the ds off the kids long enough to try Smile I was just wondering if someone else out there has struck the same problem or if its just me Smile

Thanks for your reply

Oh and they are all 4Gb Sandisk cards in each r4.
I also found that the TT card was the most stable and rarely wouldn't play a game but it had a shorter shelf life

Right ok - that's fine. I think your issue is simply that some games have trouble with different types of DS cards. Usually updating to the latest firmware will fix that - and sometimes you can even get fixes for specific games online for certain DS cards. Have a check to see.

We also like the DSTT (The DSTT Upgrades are especially good in our opinion!) Smile

Many Thanks

I too am having problems with some games. I'm using the R4i ultra with firmware 1.55 that I downloaded from the website on the card . Need 4 speed works great but the discovery games and mario bros. along with a whole bunch more come up on the menu but on the touch screen it says "Untitled" and there is no picture where the logo should be. I checked the files and I have both the .nds file and the .sav file for the games that don't play. If u find anything out about this type of issue, please let us know.Thanx.

When I downloaded the Kernel for my R4i Ultra at (r4ultra.com) next to each download link there is another link for the "RayFile", Am I supposed to download that also?

For your other question - not too sure really - i've linked you to the guide of how to install games to the card on a previous post - but after reading this It comes across like you know what you are doing. I know that not all game are compatible with all cards. Try to find a different version of the NDS that does not work to see if there is one that is compatible with the ultra card you are using.

Many Thanks
